I find the NOTES part of Outlook
to be particularly useful.
Consisting of multicolored
e-sticky notes, they're possibly
the easiest feature of Microsoft
Office to use - and great for
little bits of information you
don't know where to file on your
computer.
Open Outlook and choose
NOTES, then right-click
to choose New Note (or
click New at the top on
your standard
toolbar). It's just a
text box, so go ahead
and write out your
reminder to try out for
American Idol or take
Fido to the vet.
Feel free to click in
its top left corner on
the tiny picture of the
sticky note to change
the color if you want
(if you followed along
and assigned categories
to your calendar entries
a couple months back
when The 5 Minute
Bulletin Board ezine
showed you how to use
your Outlook calendar,
those categories are in
there now. Simply choose
the color you want or
assign one now, and it
will apply to your
calendar as well).
Close when you're done
to save and exit. To
find it again, just open
up NOTES and you'll see
it there. If you want,
you can always drag one
of these e-stickies onto
your desktop, too. To
delete a note, just
right-click on its
listing in your NOTES
folder and choose
Delete, as you would an
email.
To your success,
Tiiu Garrett
