We all pretty much know that if you goof
up in Word or Excel, that little blue
back arrow 'undoes' whatever it was that
you wish you hadn't.
But what about when you goof on your
desktop? Or somewhere else where you
don't have access to it?
Case in point. I was wanting to move
a group of photos on my desktop to a
folder, in preparation for sending
them to a client.
As I was happily Ctl-clicking away
to select the lot, all of a sudden
it gave me doubles! They were
labeled the same with the addition
of the word 'Copy' in the filename.
Solution:
- Simply click Control-Z after the
error occurs.
- A dialogue box will ask you if
you want to permanently delete
- answer YES to that, since it's
referring to the copy you just made.
- NOTE: As always, think through
carefully before ever pressing
Delete, just to make sure you're not
pressing something in a hurry while
you're frazzled.
If you want to try this, try it from
your desktop with some duplicated
files.
To your success,
