Last week I told you we'll continue to
build onto the formatting tip for Excel.
So this week, I though I'd show you how
to slant those cells in your header
row.
With an Excel document in front of you
that has headings across the top, follow
these easy steps:
- Highlight the entire header row as I
taught you last week by clicking in the
left margin of that row;
- Right-click on the highlighting and
choose Format Cells;
- Click on the Alignment tab;
- See that box to the right that
resembles the right side of a clock?
Either drag that red dot upward until
you see 45 degrees, or just type 45 into
the box just below the picture;
- Click OK to view the result
immediately.
It's a terrific tool and one you'll need
to play with a little to get the exact
results you want.
Remember you can make the row slightly
larger in size, format the text as you
would any other cell, and wrap your
text. Refer to last week's tip for a
refresher if you need.
This is one terrific tool to make your
spreadsheets more aesthetically
pleasing. Have fun and pursue your own
angle. Until next week then!
